It was around this time that Anita became known as the “Go-to-Gal” when it came to “How Do I . . . ” questions. [Did you know that WordPerfect had a hidden menu and not just that blank blue screen?]
Of course, as soon as the lawyers warmed up to the idea of having computers on their own desks, Microsoft’s Windows burst onto the scene and changed everything (and not to the liking of the legal industry).
Anita spent countless hours teaching herself how to most efficiently use these new personal computers and the seemly complicated software that came with them. Many law firms became “dual shops” because they refused to give up WordPerfect, even though their clients were embracing Microsoft Word. Oh, the conversion issues that were a daily nightmare for these lawyers and their staff!
But Anita enjoyed resolving these issues, and somewhere along the way, she fell into the area of Help Desk Support because she was able to easily transition between the two software applications. She created a training manual specific to the legal field which focused on WordPerfect users who had to learn to work with Microsoft Word and used that manual to teach several hands-on classes to legal support staff.
With 20 years experience helping computer users resolve a myriad of issues, Anita has spent the last eight (8) years providing ONLINE Help Desk/Customer Support for several Internet Marketing professionals.
